Edge Boards are a direct legacy of George Greenough's concepts, and embody a thorough exploration of what's possible with a modern single fin board. These shapes are designed to reduce the surface area in contact with the water, minimize drag and maximize speed.

Over the past ten years, I've worked with George to refine his ideas, adapt them to my own surfing, and integrate them into my designs. To this day, I use his hot-wire cutting technique to generate unique curves designed specifically for these boards. Edge Boards are a category in their own right, and I see them as a living tribute to George's visionary work on edge design, initiated in the 1960s.

I'm deeply grateful and honored to be able to bring these revolutionary concepts to life through resolutely contemporary boards.

Design and concepts

Edge Boards are based on a unique technical approach articulated around three distinct rocker types: the central plane, the Rail V, and the rail rocker. The center plane corresponds to a concave section that forms the flat base of the board. The V-raillocated inside the rails, takes the shape of an inverted parabolic V, and the rail rocker corresponds to the outer curve of the board's general outline.

The idea behind this design is simple: reduce drag and increase speed. When the board is on the rail, water is efficiently evacuated through the V-rail section. In a straight line (trim), the board rests essentially on the central plane, allowing water to be released without lateral resistance. This significantly reduces the water contact surfacewhich significantly improves glide.

The result is a hybrid board with dual behavior. At low speeds, the wide outline provides stability and comfort. Once on the rails, the board behaves like a much narrower model, with increased sensitivity and finer handling.

Sizes and configurations

Stubbies (5'8 - 7'0)

Stubbies have a compact, tight outline, similar to a bullet shape. Three types of tails are offered: arc, area pin or rounded square. The wide point is positioned forward, with a relatively straight rail line at the rear, providing speed and hold.

The central plane is accelerated for a lively feel underfoot. The hull starts with a pronounced concave at the nose, which evolves into a double concave in the center of the board, finishing with a progressive Vee under the tail. These models are particularly versatile: they offer excellent performance in a wide variety of waves, from hip-high to powerful overhead, depending on the size chosen.

Gliders (7'0 - 8'0)

Gliders have a more elliptical outline, with smooth, elongated curves. Two types of tails are available: rounded square or area pin. The wide point is more harmoniously distributed, and the central plane faithfully follows the general line of the outline.

The hull has a triplane profile from nose to tail, with a pronounced V below the base of the fin, which facilitates gliding and fluidity. These models are designed for softer conditions or long, sloping sections. They are ideal for surfers who want to maintain a fluid style while remaining mobile in the wave, even in slower line-ups dominated by longboards.

A word from the shaper:

1. EdgeBoard Stubbys
Tail Options: Arc Velo tail, Round square
Dimensions: 6’0” - 7’0” x 20 1/2” - 22” x 2 1/2” - 3”
Rider Weight: 65kg - 100kg
Notes: Classic single-fin stubby with added Edge Board speed. Best for point breaks and clean beach breaks.

2. EdgeBoard / True Edge
Tail Options: Round tail, Subtle diamond
Dimensions: 7’0” - 8’0” x 21” - 22 1/2” x 2 1/2” - 3 1/4”
Rider Weight: 65kg - 100kg
Notes: Mini-glider design with the added "edge." Ideal for point breaks and small beach breaks. Can be tailored into an Edge Gun with narrower widths (19” - 20 1/2”).

Sizes from 5'6 to 8'0

Widths from 19'' to 23''.

Drift Single fin only

Tail options available

  • Area Pin Tail :
Versatile, fluid, stable. Excellent in hollow sections and for smooth transitions from one rail to another.

  • Rounded Square Tail :
Straighter rail line, fast, stable board. Good balance between control and speed. Perfect for small surf with excellent planning.

  • Velo ARC Tail :
Excellent projection and drive thanks to a tight rail line. The rounded exit arc facilitates smooth curves. Ideal for wider, shorter shapes, performs well in small wavesup to shoulder height.

EPS - EPOXY

stratified in EPS - Epoxy to maximize lightness, buoyancy and shape memory. All with exceptional durability. Advantages for the curious surfer, ultra-reactive board with immediate acceleration, perfect combo - fluid trim - maneuverability at the bottom. Flat center rocker for speed - raised rail rocker for tight turns, aerodynamic quad set for laminar grip in the wave, optimized volume distribution underfoot - pushback in turns.
