Edge Boards are based on a unique technical approach articulated around three distinct rocker types: the central plane, the Rail V, and the rail rocker. The center plane corresponds to a concave section that forms the flat base of the board. The V-raillocated inside the rails, takes the shape of an inverted parabolic V, and the rail rocker corresponds to the outer curve of the board's general outline.
The idea behind this design is simple: reduce drag and increase speed. When the board is on the rail, water is efficiently evacuated through the V-rail section. In a straight line (trim), the board rests essentially on the central plane, allowing water to be released without lateral resistance. This significantly reduces the water contact surfacewhich significantly improves glide.
The result is a hybrid board with dual behavior. At low speeds, the wide outline provides stability and comfort. Once on the rails, the board behaves like a much narrower model, with increased sensitivity and finer handling.
Stubbies have a compact, tight outline, similar to a bullet shape. Three types of tails are offered: arc, area pin or rounded square. The wide point is positioned forward, with a relatively straight rail line at the rear, providing speed and hold.
The central plane is accelerated for a lively feel underfoot. The hull starts with a pronounced concave at the nose, which evolves into a double concave in the center of the board, finishing with a progressive Vee under the tail. These models are particularly versatile: they offer excellent performance in a wide variety of waves, from hip-high to powerful overhead, depending on the size chosen.
Gliders have a more elliptical outline, with smooth, elongated curves. Two types of tails are available: rounded square or area pin. The wide point is more harmoniously distributed, and the central plane faithfully follows the general line of the outline.
The hull has a triplane profile from nose to tail, with a pronounced V below the base of the fin, which facilitates gliding and fluidity. These models are designed for softer conditions or long, sloping sections. They are ideal for surfers who want to maintain a fluid style while remaining mobile in the wave, even in slower line-ups dominated by longboards.
Area Pin Tail :
Versatile, fluid, stable. Excellent in hollow sections and for smooth transitions from one rail to another.
Rounded Square Tail :
Straighter rail line, fast, stable board. Good balance between control and speed. Perfect for small surf with excellent planning.
Velo ARC Tail :
Excellent projection and drive thanks to a tight rail line. The rounded exit arc facilitates smooth curves. Ideal for wider, shorter shapes, performs well in small wavesup to shoulder height.
